About Kenshin:
Himura Kenshin was born a peasant under the name Shinta, with no family name. Kogoro Katsura, the leader of the division he fought in during the Boshin War that gave him the family name of Himura, and Shinta was renamed to Kenshin by Seijuro Hiko after Hiko saved his life and took him as an apprentice. He got the scar on his face from two different sources. The vertical portion he got while in battle, and the horizontal part was made by his betrothed. He was fighting someone, and as he was dealing the death stoke, the girl got in the way. As she died in his arms, she picked up her dagger and added the line to make the cross.
Kenshin is a gentle, polite man who lives at the Kamiya Dojo with Kaoru and Yahiko. He fought during the revolution as "Battousai the Manslayer" but later decided that killing was wrong and became a wanderer. After 10 years, he met Kaoru and started to live at her place.
Kenshin has a peculiar style of speech in which he uses "gozaru," an obsolete form of the verb "to be." He also uses the "samurai" pronoun "sessha," which is supposed to be polite. He also prefers doing the laundry, cooking, and playing with Ayame and Suzume to fighting. However, when he needs to protect someone, he will fight, and well.
He uses the Hiten Mitsurugi style, which revolves around predicting an opponent's moves. Pushed too far, however, Kenshin will revert back to his former self, Battousai. It is easy to tell when this happens. First, his eyes glow amber. Then, his speech changes. He no longer uses the cute "de gozaru" or the polite "sessha," but the more masculine, vulgar "ore" instead.
Many people are after Kenshin, either for revenge or because he's "in the way." Many have tried to force him to become Battousai again, but only a few have actually succeeded.
Fighting Techniques:
Return Cut - Nothing has been crushed along the line of the cut, so it can be put back together exactly as it was. It was performed on a daikon radish. Oww.
Ryu Mei Sen - When he sheaths the sword, he generates a supersonic sound due to the impact between the tsuba (sword guard) and the saya (scabbard), a sound like the a roar of the dragon. Knocking such sound into the opponent's ear when he passes by, Kenshin is able to render numb for a moment the hearing nerves of his foe.
Shin Ken no Kamae - The sword that believes. A defensive stance, but Kenshin also uses it to measure the length of Hanya's arm to counterattack.
Sou Ryu Sen Ikatsuchi - Kenshin attacks with the sword still in the sheathe, then he draws his sword, traps his opponents sword with the sheathe, then smashes them with his sword.
Battojutsu - Drawing out the sakabatou from the saya (scabbard) in such a way that it reaches "god-like" speed. Since the sakabatou is not meant for the battojutsu due to its shape slowing it down, Kenshin developed the Double Battojutsu technique.
Double Battojutsu - Drawing out the sakabatou from the saya (scabbard) in such a way that it reaches "god-like" speed. After the sakabatou has left the saya, Kenshin swings the saya as well at his opponent in case the Battojutsu drawing technique has missed.
Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu:
Ryu Tsui Sen (Dragon Hammer Flash) - Kenshin jumps high then slams his opponent down.
Hi Ryu Sen - Kenshin's sword flies out of the scabbard like an arrow.
Do Ryu Sen (Earth Dragon Flash) - Here, the sword is thrust into the ground then thrust outwards from the body causing a strong wind that blows dirt/rocks at opponent.
Ryu Sho Sen (Dragon Flight Flash) - This attack starts low, aimed at the throat, and cuts up.
Ryu Sou Sen (Dragon Nest Flash) - Kenshin wildly swings the sword in flashes, each of the swings hitting the opponent.
Sou Ryu Sen Kaminori (Twin Dragon Flash Thunder) - Sword and sheath..double battou technique.
Ryu Kan Sen (Dragon Wrap Sword) [-Kogarashi (-Spiral)] - This attack uses body rotation. A left slash is performed, attacking multiple enemies at once.
Ryu Kan Sen (Dragon Wrap Sword) [-Tsumugi (-Winter Wind)] - This attack uses body rotation. A right slash is performed, attacking multiple enemies at once. It's just the reversed version of the Ryu Kan Sen Kogarashi.
Ryu Kan Sen (Dragon Wrap Sword) [-Arashi (-Storm)] - This attack uses body rotation. Kenshin attacks people in single file, front to back.
Ryu Son Sen - Kenshin does a 360 degree turn and attacks all surrounding opponents.
Kuzu Ryu Sen (9 Head Dragon Flash) - This attack hits 9 vital points of the body at the same time.
Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki (Heaven Flight Dragon's Inspiration) - A succession technique. When drawing the sword from the saya (sheath), usually the right foot leads so the left leg doesn't get cut in the process, but the user must step off with the right foot then take one extra step with the left. Thus, the performing of this technique requires the user to walk on a thin line between life and death. The leading left foot adds extra power to the technique but at the same time, if the user misses, his oppenent is drawn near because the succession technique also creates a strong vortex of air so the user can strike again.
Sword Strokes:
1. Karatake (downward stroke)
2. Kesagiri, the slantwise downward stroke to the shoulder
3. Reverse Kesagiri
4. Right Nagi (belly stroke)
5. Left Nagi (reverse belly stroke)
6. Right upward cut
7. Left upward cut
8. Sakakaze, upward stroke
9. Tsuki, the stroke that pierces the chest at the shortest range
((Mangaverse Kenshin, I do not own him and I am making no money of this, purely for enjoyment of RP.))
